Black Friday Turns Barbaric by Dr. T

The tragedy that took place on "Black Friday" at the Wal-Mart in Valley Stream, NY was destined to happen. The culture of consumerism has been consuming us for decades and it has culminated in a despicable act of crowd-mentality barbarism. A young man's life was snatched away under the feet of a throng of people hell bent on purchasing flat screens, laptops and violent video games. How pathetically low we have sunk! In fact, according to news reports, some shoppers actually complained when the store closed because of the melee. How inconvenient of this man to get in their way and then to lay dying, clearly infringing on their purchasing rights.

All around me I see example after example of the evaporation of our humanity. Just a few months ago a pedestrian was hit by a car and folks went about their business as he lay helpless in the street. At the rate we are going, we won't be done in by enemies outside our borders, we will be the architects of our own demise if we don't wake up.
