Quick question...

What supposed political premise is more important to this administration, and to the people of the United States? The choice, if there was one, would be between the separation of church and state or the separation of private companies and the state. I have just finished reading articles both in the Wall Street Journal and IBD. Both are editorials, but both report on $340 million that are trying to be returned by banks- small banks though they may be- which no longer need TARP funds. It is taken as Gospel that there is a legal precedent, from a letter written to a church over 200 years ago by Thomas Jefferson, which states that there is and should be a barrier between churches and the government. But now our President and his treasury secretary want to do away with- because of a political philosophy, the concrete emphasis of our systems, specifically economic are wrong- our capitalistic ideals which have created the greatest country ever. If you have not started brewing tea...start paying attention. For this writer's exasperation, something a little stronger than tea is needed.
