America is Slipping Away by Dr. T

I was very lucky not only to have been born in the United States, but to have been born at the right time. I am a baby boomer and thus have benefitted by having been brought up after World War II but before radical liberalism put a stanglehold on the Country. Though the 1950s and 60s were turbulent times, they were mild by comparison to today. Americans were still united, not fragmented into seperate groups meant to divide, weaken and ultimately conquer the Country. Personal responsibilty took precedence over victimization. Capitalism, ingenuity and boldness ensured success. Sadly, over the decades the entitlement mentality has taken hold to such a degree that American exceptionalism is slipping away. The Country was founded upon individual freedom, a freedom bestowed not by the government, who can thus take it away, but by God. Freedom means responsibilty, you cannot have one without the other. The government has played upon the "softness" of the people and used that to it's advantage. The silk ropes of slavery are present among the unemployment checks and food stamp cards. When will folks realize that success is only earned through hard work, some failure and perseverence? The government cannot give you success, they can give you just enough to keep you wanting; thus needing them. It's a sham, meant to create nothing more than mediocrity. Everyone will be bland, everyone will conform, everyone will render unto the government. Soon personal property will be gone, and all manner of daily needs rationed. This is the opposite of freedom and the forces are at work...America is slipping away. It will only be by recognizing what it means to be American that we will be able to keep America intact for the future generations. Are we up to the task??

The Ruling Class by Dr T

As each day passes I am witness to the excesses of a government that the "founders" sought to supress. New regulations handed down by administrative "czars" are taking our liberties away one by one. The latest and most telling attempted atrocity was a rule handed down that said NO ONE under the age of 18 years could work on a farm. Well...the outcry over that absurdity came strong and swift, and alas, the bureaucrats had to walk the rule back. But lets have a closer look at why this rule was attempted in the first place. If you are naive enough to think that it was meant to "protect the children"...think again. Like so many liberty-grabbing rules that this administration makes, this one like many others was under the guise of protection. For eons private farms have depended on their children's help in order to keep the farm running. The real reason for attempting to pass this regulation was to put small family farms out of business. There are (2) very big thorns in the sides of progressives which I will hearby name the "ruling class" as that is more appropriate. Number one is individual property rights. The ruling class is not a bit happy that citizens in this country can actually own property. Though the government owns millions upon millions of acres they seek to own more and are looking for ways to take land from the citizenry. Number two, the Obama administration is waging a war on fossil fuels through the EPA while at the same time trying to have folks believe that they have allowed more drilling than any prior administration. The fact is that drilling is happening on "privately owned land," the government had no hand in it and frankly if they had their way they would stop it. As time goes on if, God forbid, Obama is re-elected you will see more attempted regulations raining down on property owners with the express purpose of stealing their land.
