It pained me to watch some of the Democrat Convention. In fact, it pained me to the point where I could only bear little snippets at a time. Now, I understand that a certain amount of "poetic license" is expected in an endorsement speech and certainly can be expected from the nominee's spouse, but Michelle Obama's tribute to "her man" was clearly over the top. Oh the struggle, the rusted out car , the shoes too small for his feet; all this when they were courting. This kind of nonsense plays to the non-thinkers, the dumbed down, the masses that lap it up like nomads in the desert. Unfortunately there are far too many of them and possibly just enough to cancel out every analytical thinker's vote. The fact checkers in the mainstream media were nowhere to be found, they simply proclaimed the speech a slam dunk. But no bias here. If you believe that the Obamas were down and struggling I've got a bridge to sell ya.
But this is just a small nick in the chain. The whole convention is a contradiction. Lets see ...we're not going to mention God and Jerusalem...oh wait, we are going to mention God and Jerusalem. The President didn't see the platform language before the event, oh wait...the President did see the platform language before the event. Pathetic! The Dems can't even control their infighting and cover ups for three days. The whole convention is in disarray. Moving on to the big acceptance speech. Our ever narcissistic President wanted to speak to the masses in a stadium just like four years ago. Alas he doesn't see that the bloom is off the rose and the stadium would not be filled like the first time around. Lightning doesn't strike twice, especially in politics. Even if his policies weren't such a disaster, the momentum generated in 2008 could never be replicated in 2012. Not for any candidate...not even for him. So now the organizers were forced to scramble for a "smaller forum" using the excuse that there is a possibility of bad weather. I will remind you that the original venue was advertised as "rain or shine". With this 11th hour change it was too late to order balloons for the convention hall. I guess they'll have to be satisfied with some kid skipping across the stage with a sparkler.
