What can happen a week from now by Dr. T

Well citizens, we are a few days away from what will be the most significant election of our lifetime. If Barack Obama wins, America as we know it will cease to be. Obama will reign supreme with a majority in the House & Senate. The consequences of this coup will be far reaching. Senator Obama is a socialist who believes in wealth re-distribution. Socialism has failed everywhere it's been tried and it will fail here as well. Socialism kills the human spirit, it rewards mediocrity and punishes success. This country was founded upon the belief that an individual has the freedom to create his own destiny. We are a capitalist nation, a nation that has prospered from the ingenuity, grit and determination of hard working people who never sought a handout. Freedom carries with it the burden of responsibility. A socialist state is a "nanny state" where the government controls the people through entitlements and regulation. It is not a regime I wish to live under. If Obama wins he will appoint left leaning judges who will bend and shape the constitution to conform to their agenda. With the press already on the side of the Democrats, the Obama administration will seek to silence conservative voices by trying to reinstate the "fairness doctrine" which is anything but fair. Incrementally, freedoms will be chipped away. Universal health care will replace health choice and we will see our services mirror that of England and Canada. Obama will raise corporate taxes and capital gains taxes, this will bring our troubled economy to a complete halt. Jobs will be lost as small businesses struggle to remain solvent and large corporations will pass the taxes on to the folks or simply move overseas. He will grow our deficit by almost a trillion dollars through more entitlements and an even bigger government bureaucracy. He will draw down our troops leaving us more vulnerable to terrorist attacks here at home. By his own running mate's admission, enemies will test him, believing him weak on foreign policy.

So think long and hard before turning the lever on Nov. 4th...all this and more will be our fate if Barack Obama becomes President.

An interesting read from an interesting guy

Orson Scott Card is an interesting guy (read his bio at wikipedia here), he is an anti-gun advocate, a registered democrat, a global warming questioner, and dislikes Southern Republican racism (?). This writer came across him reading his novel, Ender's Game, from the U.S. Navy's reading list. Quick aside, I am not a sci-fi fan but it is a great book especially for young adults. Anyway, Card has written a good article a couple of days ago daring today's media to take a good look at themselves and their favorite party. It should be read and can be right here.

It Is Close to Halloween After All...

It is close to Halloween after all, so I was thinking I would scare the heck out of you. In today's Wall Street Journal, in the review and outlook section of their editorial page is an article describing, if the polls are correct, what we are in store for in the not too distant future. God help us all.

The Debate was a Yawner by Dr. T

Last night's presidential debate was disappointing to say the least. It was so boring they could have phoned it in. Same old talking points on both sides, same old jabs about who did this and who didn't do that with the usual confusing statistics thrown in for good measure. What is particularly disturbing about the demeanor on the part of both candidates is the very obvious absence of any true anger or emotion over the mess that Wall Street,in concert with the Congress, has put the American people in. They both talked about billions and trillions of dollars as though this is just play money. Perhaps to both of them it is. After all, it's very easy to lose money that isn't your own and just as easy to spend it, vis-a-vis the so called bailout.

John McCain, who I endorse, missed a prime opportunity to query Barack Obama about the love fest between his party(himself, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd to mention a few) and the high-ups at Fannie May and Freddie Mac. They consorted in the name of "fairness" and as a result of reckless decisions and zero oversight, American citizens are in the tank to the tune of 2 trillion dollars. All the while the aforementioned representatives were lining their pockets with contributions from these entities. In addition, the bailout money hasn't even cleared and folks at AIG went on a $400,000.00 junket. What the heck is going on? We need accountability and investigations. Instead we still have empty heads in Congress calling for impeachment hearings for President Bush when they know that there have been no violations.

The people had better wake up to the fact that the government is completely out of control. We've got a government that has become a stinkhole of greed and corruption. A government that has our country tinkering on the verge of economic collapse. We need to make the right decision on November 4th...America is hanging in the balance. John McCain should have made a stronger case, he is on the right side of economics at this critical time. He understands that raising taxes right now would put another nail in the coffin. Obama claims that he won't raise taxes on those making less than $250,000.00 but this is inconsistent with his voting record of raising taxes 94 times on incomes as low as $42,000.00. He wants universal healthcare and a trillion dollars in new spending. Beware of a "charmer" bearing gifts, this is socialism disguised as fairness for all. Every entity that government has taken over has become a boondoggle; Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, all on the verge of collapse through mismanagement. Don't be taken in again, we need to be free to make our own decisions about our health care, about school choice, about our investments. A vote for Obama is a vote against our liberty.

Hail to the Framers by Dr. T

Years from now when historians record the fall of America, they will most likely say that we were orchestrators of our own demise. Empires much older than us toppled because their citizens grew too complacent. Our government is out of control, greed and corruption are rampant. Clearly we the people are not being represented.

I can say this with certainty because I am versed in our founding documents. My beliefs afford me many labels: traditonalist, federalist, constitutionalist. I couldn't care less about the title, what I care about are the tenets put forth in our documents that are no longer being adhered to. I've just listened to a marvelous series on CD, entitled "The Road to Independence". Mike Church, of the radio show of the same name on Sirius Radio, has put together a piece that I believe should be mandatory listening for every man, woman and school age child in this country. You will hear the founders, in their own words, bring the story of the Declaration of Independence to life. You will hear first hand the provisions that are built into this document, that were meant to protect the citizens from the abuses of government that we are experiencing today. The holiday we celebrate on July 4th each year was made possible because of the tenacity of these self sacrificing men. They understood tyranny and they had an overwhelming desire to embark upon a new form of government. A government that would truly be of the people, by the people and for the people.

With election day so close at hand, it would do everyone well to again become familiar with these precious documents, lest they become just another piece of antiquity.
