Where's The Love? By Dr. T

Throughout our short history, there have been good Presidents and not such good Presidents. But since this nation's inception, all our Presidents have loved their country. All,that is, but our current President. Barack Obama's disdain for his country has been on display since his election. And if one knows where to look, his ideology can be traced much further back to his indoctrination in Hawaii and later at Harvard, to his associations with radicals during his college years and as a community organizer. His associations with William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright, his pastor of 20 years. During his campaign these associations were downplayed, the mainstream media were all heavily invested in his victory. Now six months into his presidency, the veneer is wearing thin and folks are beginning to see the man behind the teleprompter. In his trips abroad, he has never sung the praises of his country, but instead has chosen to apologize for it. In his latest news conference on healthcare, he never once mentioned the exemplary care our health professionals provide to our citizens each and every day, whether they are insured or not. Over the years my husband has had serious health issues and at each juncture, his care has been outstanding. If we lived any place other than here, the outcome would have been very different. Barack Obama will never convince me that our system is broken. Could our system use some tweaking? Of course, no system is perfect. But show me Americans leaving the U.S. for healthcare in another country. On the contrary, people from socialized countries come here every day to access our system, for they know that if they wait at home, they will die. Make no mistake, the President's reform of our healthcare has nothing to do with our well being but everything to do with control. If he and the Congress succeed in pushing through a nationalized system, they will control every aspect of our lives...what we eat/drink, how much exercise we do/what our habits are. We will be monitored and rationed, our healthcare will be given or taken away at the will of the government. This President is all about change, but his ideology is the antithesis of the true American spirit. "Individual rights," the cornerstone of our democracy, is not in his lexicon. He is a statist who looks upon the population as drones working for a collective. In the short time we have been in existence, we have accomplished more than any country on the planet. We are made of flesh and blood like any other human beings but our gift of freedom has allowed us to use our individual talents to pursue our own paths, to invent, to educate, to become industrialists, scientists, doctors and entrepreneurs. Because of our freedom, our country prospered and for decades it has led the world through innovation and generosity. All of these accomplishments are not acknowledged by our President, and if these truths are absent from his heart, his leadership will change the face of America. I have no doubt that some folks will condemn me for speaking against the President; many of them will be the same people who vilified our former President. I'm thick skinned...my allegiance is to my country and to those who fought and died to preserve our liberty.

Change Not Always a Good Thing by Dr. T

The White House and Congress are falling apart before our eyes. Anyone with a brain larger than Joe Biden's can see the chaos they have created and how unsustainable their policies are. Economists are now throwing spending figures around to the tune of 24 trillion dollars. Funny how if you say trillion long enough it just becomes commonplace...besides, who can wrap their minds around that many zeros??? Each and every policy put forth is punitive...higher taxes, fees and surcharges, scapegoating the rich and undermining business, these measures don't help the population. They hurt it. We are experiencing a soft tyranny that must be stopped if we can ever hope to put America back on the right track. Billions have been spent with promises of unemployment capping at 8%...we are now in double digits in some parts of the Country. Small businesses are closing in record numbers as the tax burden becomes unbearable. Simply printing money is not the answer. Economics 101 works every time...lowering taxes across the board, including capital gains, will free up money and the economy will flourish. Congress and the White House know this yet they refuse to take the right steps. I can only come to one conclusion...they are hellbent on destroying the country to keep their power. Disgraceful and disgusting. Wake up America, even our socialized neighbors, England and Canada concede that we are on a fateful path. Nationalized health care is the next big push, with the President constantly carping that we have a broken system. We have a broken social security system, a broken medicare/medicaid system, and a broken IRS system just to name a few...all run by the government. And now we are supposed to believe that they can oversee 1/3 of the nation's economy??? I have one question, will Ted Kennedy and all the rest of the "chosen" submit themselves and their families to the same rationed care they are trying to ram down our collective throats? I think not...and if they won't sign up, either will I. I'm looking for legal representation that will invoke a "class action" against the government if the citizens are forced to sign on to a nationalized plan. Do I have any takers? I watched the President's news conference on health care and I don't have any more specifics now than I had before his conference. It was the usual smoke and mirrors, and huge generalizations. Those who have seen the actual plan know that our health records will be on file in Washington and some bureaucrats rather than our doctors will determine when and if we can have care. If this is your idea of reform, have at it...I'll pass, thank you.
