Fa La La by Dr T

In the 11th hour our lame duck Congress has managed to push through the final bills of their tyrannical and irresponsible reign. The Republicans deserve credit for squashing the bloated omnibus bill which had no less than 6000 earmarks and a price tag that would have added another trillion plus to our deficit. Harry Reid couldn't get the votes and had to pull the bill in an embarassing defeat. Having given the Republicans their due on this, sadly a number of other bills have made it across the finish line. The START treaty is a blow to our national security . Obama and Congress were snookered by the Russkies. Our arsenal drops at a time when other countries are gearing up...amazing. Russia has no assets and so they will negotiate with China or any other rogue state willing to accommodate them. In the end Iran, Pakistan, North Korea, Saudi Arabia and yes, Russia will point their nukes our way. How dangerous and naive our so called leaders are and shame on the Republicans that voted "yes".

Eric Holder, that ever-vigilant protector of terrorists, has issued a decree stating that we have home grown enemies. How insightful...he's just figured this out? He has as much as said...be prepared..."we cannot protect you." While we were busy bending over backwards to ensure political correctness, Mosques in this country have been schooling radicals in bomb making 101 and our government has spent their time on where KSM and other killers should be prosecuted.

It is clear that the Progressives who have co-opted this adminsitration are hellbent on advancing a "new world order", a global governance headed by the corrupt UN. Slowly and deliberately our Constitution is being usurped and along with it the freedom of American citizens.

Be wary of the changes being pushed though, they are presented as protections for the American people...they are, however, power grabs meant only to control every aspect of our lives. The latest FCC ruling on the internet is the first step in diluting our freedom of speech. The new Congress must keep a vigilant eye on the committees working behind the scenes. The American people spoke on November 2nd...we are watching. So Fa La La... enjoy the Christmas holiday and come in on Jan 5th with sleeves rolled up...there is much work to do.

They Just Don't Get it by Dr T

So here we are, just a bit over a month since the biggest defeat of Democrats in decades and they still don't get it. The omnibus spending bill which will add 1.7 trillion to the deficit is precisely what the citizens voted against on November 2nd. But the outgoing party wants to get their last licks in and is, in effect, on a wild Christmas shopping spree with taxpayer dollars.

The Republicans should unanimously vote this bill down and after January 1st when they take over the House, they can deal with extending the Bush tax cuts. In this way no more harm is done by adding more to the debt. The folks have made their wishes for no more earmarks quite clear and yet the Democrats are tone deaf. As far as extending unemployment compensation, this too should only pass if it can be funded. Three years is a long time to collect unemployment and while I have no doubt that there are scarce jobs out there(thanks to punitive regulations and uncertainty from govt.)and folks need help, a hand-out is defeatist in that it provides no incentive to seek employment. There should at least be a caveat that recipients provide services ie. helping with infrastructure, tutoring, highway clean ups etc. in order to receive the benefit. This would be a win/win in that folks could pay their bills while providing a valuable service. Yet this is too much thinking for our legislators, they are content to spend taxpayer dollars without accountability.

The bottom line is that decades of reckless spending have now put the country on the verge of collapse...the new guard has much work to do.
