McCain Can't Type..Oh No! By Dr. T
The operatives are busy as ever, doing Obama's dirty work for him. Let's see, where to begin...oh yes, I watched the Palin interview with Charlie Gibson. First and foremost you have to watch the body language of these two people. Gibson was clearly in condescending mode: he talked low...trying to sound so very "grave", his glasses perched at the end of his nose as he looked down(physically and figuratively) upon the Governor. Sarah on the other hand sat in a comfortable stance, open and accessible. These may appear to be minor nuances, I assure you they are not. People tell a lot about themselves through body language, hence much is revealed even before a word is uttered.
Now for the actual verbal exchange. Gibson asked his questions in hushed tones and Sarah answered quickly and succinctly, her tone audible and even. She didn't stammer, she didn't weave and bob, her responses were loud and clear. She spoke with the confidence that comes from believing in the message. She is someone who is comfortable in her own skin. This can only happen when a person has core beliefs. A person who panders and changes the script according to the audience at the moment, can never speak with this kind of grace and ease. Gibson asked her the same question two and three times, clearly baiting her, and each time she answered him the same way, never allowing herself to be rattled by him. She never changed her answer and she was as gracious the third time around as she was the first. She killed him with kindness...it was delightful to watch her. Of course he was playing for a "gotcha" when he asked her about the "Bush doctrine". Much is being said about the fact that Sarah asked for clarification to this question. It was implied that she didn't know the answer. The question was deliberately vague, so as to purposely trip her up; she was right in asking for clarification. She then went on to answer on Bush's world view and she did so with ease. Gibson went on to ask about Russia and Israel, each time attempting to push her toward a response that would suggest that she is eager to go to war. She spelled out a strategy, but she was clear that military force could be a part of that strategy. She didn't back down and she didn't apologize...this is the mark of a true leader.
