The close of 2008 is at hand and it's been a bumpy ride. But hang on to your hats folks, cause the ride is far from over. The primaries, the debates, the conventions, went on ad nauseum and finally the election took place. The "new hope" for America was elected and on January 20th, Barack Hussein Obama will become our 44th president. I predict that under his "reign" and yes, it will be a "reign", America as we know it will disappear. The economic downturn has cleared the field for the government to nationalize industry. America was founded on individualism and capitalism, but now those concepts will be discarded as the "progressives"(just another word for liberals) take over and turn the country socialist. The Democratic Party revels in misery, the worse the better. They preach fear in order to ensnare the population. Fear breeds dependence. If enough of the electorate are fearful, they will look to the government to save them...thus creating a guaranteed voting block. Cynical you say? I say no, just connect the dots. Many of the problems we are facing today could have been avoided. Case in point - the so called "oil crisis". I've said it before and I'll continue to say it, we have enough crude within our own borders to sustain us for 200 years. Yet the government will not allow us to drill. They are content to have us suffer $4.00 a gallon gasoline in order to force us to conserve. Even now that prices have rolled back, the president-elect promises to raise gas taxes. This inflation is a deliberate attempt to wean us off fossil fuel. In so doing a little of my liberty is lost. The president-elect promises universal health care, the masses are elated...they shouldn't be. You'll be told when to see a doctor and to whom you must go...a little of my liberty is lost. Workers will be forced to openly vote for or against joining a union...privacy gone...a little bit of liberty lost. Obama is a socialist but he is not a fool. Corporations will be more heavily taxed which will force lay offs. Taxes will rise to pay for more entitlement programs. The more people there are on the dole the more votes guaranteed. He will make these changes incrementally, under the guise of "fairness" and spreading the wealth.
