Audacity or Stupidity by Dr. T

The lunatics are running the asylum. The economic crisis we face is in large part the fault of...who else...our illustrious Congress. Despite the "Dems" protestations that this administration is the culprit, the advent of the problem can be traced to the Carter and Clinton years. The mortgage debacle has come about primarily because the government required the lending companies to take on lower income borrowers despite the fact that they would not be able to satisfy the loans. But what did it matter? The money was flowing all around, Fannie May and Freddie Mac envoys were spreading the wealth to the likes of Senators Dodd, Obama and Frank. And now these very Senators are heading the committe that will bail out, with our money, these agencies along with many other major financial houses. The Democrats thought they had this outrageous 700 billion dollar bill in the bag when surprise, surprise, the Republicans stepped up to the plate. They are questioning, with good reason, the wisdom of laying this burden solely at the feet of the taxpayers. I only hope that they hold their ground. This financial crisis should be a catalyst for a change in government that is desperately needed. I say this because it has exposed the true agenda of this Congress. Their intent is not to protect the American people as they claim, but rather to federalize the economic sector. This would be flat out socialism and another blow to the fundamentals of a free society. Free markets and capitalism are the bedrocks of a fluid economy. It is clear that we need a plan to get us out of the current economic crisis but accountability must be laid squarely at the feet of those responsible, both inside the government and out.

Victory in Iraq? Never!

It should not come as a surprise to most. Liberals are still not willing to let the United States military claim victory in Iraq. Just when you thought it was safe to talk to your friends about Iraq, to mention Iraq, or to say that portion of the fertile crescent once a part of Persia; no the liberal, elite academics out there have figured out a way to belittle our successes over the last year. Researchers from UCLA have figured out a technique using U.S. Air Force satellite imagery to prove that the surge was not a success a all. It, according to these egg-heads, was simply people leaving Baghdad and not turning their lights on. Forget that Baghdad is but one portion of the country (Yo professor, ever heard of Anbhar). And forget the rolling blackouts, power shortages, and curfews the liberal media loved to report on during the "so-called" surge. No, UCLA researchers are right our military stinks, the U.S.A. is bad, and George Bush is the devil. Have you ever seen people try so hard to make their own country look bad. Oh and by the way, pay close attention to the last few paragraphs, because the researchers argument needs "strengthening".

McCain Can't Type..Oh No! By Dr. T

The Obama campaign is truly losing it. The latest ad they've put out claims McCain can't work a computer. It's pathetic and of course disingenuous. Could it be that they don't know that McCain can't work a keyboard because he can't extend his arms to do so? Hey guys, remember that stint he had for five years at the Hanoi Hilton? You know, where the enemy tortured him daily and broke almost every bone in his body? Of course that was so long ago, must have just slipped your collective mind (gag).

The operatives are busy as ever, doing Obama's dirty work for him. Let's see, where to begin...oh yes, I watched the Palin interview with Charlie Gibson. First and foremost you have to watch the body language of these two people. Gibson was clearly in condescending mode: he talked low...trying to sound so very "grave", his glasses perched at the end of his nose as he looked down(physically and figuratively) upon the Governor. Sarah on the other hand sat in a comfortable stance, open and accessible. These may appear to be minor nuances, I assure you they are not. People tell a lot about themselves through body language, hence much is revealed even before a word is uttered.

Now for the actual verbal exchange. Gibson asked his questions in hushed tones and Sarah answered quickly and succinctly, her tone audible and even. She didn't stammer, she didn't weave and bob, her responses were loud and clear. She spoke with the confidence that comes from believing in the message. She is someone who is comfortable in her own skin. This can only happen when a person has core beliefs. A person who panders and changes the script according to the audience at the moment, can never speak with this kind of grace and ease. Gibson asked her the same question two and three times, clearly baiting her, and each time she answered him the same way, never allowing herself to be rattled by him. She never changed her answer and she was as gracious the third time around as she was the first. She killed him with kindness...it was delightful to watch her. Of course he was playing for a "gotcha" when he asked her about the "Bush doctrine". Much is being said about the fact that Sarah asked for clarification to this question. It was implied that she didn't know the answer. The question was deliberately vague, so as to purposely trip her up; she was right in asking for clarification. She then went on to answer on Bush's world view and she did so with ease. Gibson went on to ask about Russia and Israel, each time attempting to push her toward a response that would suggest that she is eager to go to war. She spelled out a strategy, but she was clear that military force could be a part of that strategy. She didn't back down and she didn't apologize...this is the mark of a true leader.

Charles K's Argument Makes No Sense...

Charles Krauthammer argues today, in his article on Townhall.com, that because of Gov. Sarah Palin's perceived lack of experience it is now, almost, hypocritical to attack Sen. Obama's lack of experience. He writes, "Palin fatally undermines this entire line of attack", and "...with Palin, the case against Obama evaporates". Well someone forgot to tell the liberals. It is not the conservatives who think that Gov. Palin lacks experience, it is the MSM. Sen. Obama's underlings now think they have ammunition against the McCain-Palin ticket, that is similar to the ammo we have had throughout the presidential race. How come Charles K. does not write about the undermining by Obama of liberal attacks on Palin? Is it the novelty? It may not be known. Everyone has heard the arguments and the speeches about Gov. Palin's executive experience and in my opinion that argument must remain. Logic, simple logic shows that Gov. Palin's experience trumps Obama's lack of experience. This point needs to be harped on, and conservative pundits and commentators need to keep banging away to prove the point.

Krauthammer further tries to negate Palin's pro's, by describing them as, "the paucity of any Palin record or expressed conviction on the major issues of our time". We know her record, it has been spoken of for a week. The mere fact that Gov. Palin is in fact a Governor, is example enough for me. She has been hawkish on energy, tough on ethics, pro-life, and steeped in conservative-friendly reform. And for a specific example look at today's Wall Street Journal. Mr. Krauthammer's article makes no sense, because of someone else's perception, it negates our reality?

The Gloves Are Off! by Dr. T

The room grew silent and out she came, a slight and pretty woman, stylishly dressed with a smile that lit up the hall. Within the first few sentences I knew this was a woman with whom I could identify. I'm a public speaker and, as such, I can zero in on speakers and effectively evaluate them.

Sarah Palin not only worked the room, she worked 38 million viewers throughout the country. She spoke with style, with grace and just enough edge to let you know she means business. She introduced her family and without being overt, when she came to her baby with Downs Syndrome, the little boy named Trig, she let the "pro choice" crowd know where she stood. She chastised the media and the Washington elites. She played up her small town roots and beat up on Obama's empty rhetoric and hypocrisy. She laid out all she had done for Alaska in 20 short months. She showed us that real change could be possible if in the right hands.

She brought the house down and pulled the rug out from under the liberal elites. No one on the other side saw it coming. She was calm and cool after five days of relentless attacks on her and her family. She showed the country that strength of character and strong convictions can see folks through adversity. She exposed the "talking heads" and mainstream press for the vermin they are. You can bet that they will be gunning for her, big time, from now on. I have no doubt that she will persevere. We conservatives have been lacking a candidate reminiscent of Reagan. Someone unabashedly patriotic, someone who understands evil in our time, someone fiscally responsible, someone who believes in less government, someone who wants to utilize our natural resources. All of this and more, is what Sarah Palin is about.

The line in the sand is drawn... so, let the games begin.
