TICK...TICK...TICK by Dr. T

I feel like Dorothy watching in horror as the sand flows through the hour glass. Like the second hand of a clock, our liberty is passing us by tick by tick. Dr. Alexander Tytler, a Scot professor wrote about the cycle of democracy back when our colonies were forming. He claimed that the average age of the world's greatest democracies was 200 years. His theory is coming to fruition. The sequence works this way:
"From bondage to spiritual faith;
from spiritual faith to great courage;
from courage to liberty;
from liberty to abundance;
from abundance to selfishness;
from selfishness to apathy;
from apathy to dependence;
from dependency back again into bondage."

The founders knew the bondage of a monarchy and they gathered their courage and railed against it. Through their courage came liberty, passed on as a birthright to all Americans. From that liberty came the freedom for people to pursue their talents and make their way to abundance. Sadly we took our abundance for granted along with our liberty and soon we became selfish, complacent and apathetic. We became ripe for the lies and scams that our bloated federal government was creating. The lure of unbridled power is the dark side of the human condition and this administration and congress through manipulation and myth is taking us back into bondage. Tweleve thousand page bills passed in the dead of night, voted on but not read. Bailouts, stimulus, tarp, health care, climate change...all myths...tick...tick...tick.

One day as your grandchildren sit upon your knee, you'll read the story that was America. You'll tell them about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, somberly reflecting with nostalgia the glory that was true freedom. If this is a picture that makes you uncomfortable, then it's not too late. Our representatives are there at our behest, this is not a monarchy yet...start calling them, faxing them, writing them. The clock is ticking.

Mr.T. I believe this is certainly a fine well written posting. I can see that we both think alot alike just in different wordings which makes these understandable to a wide variety of folks looking for ideas that will spark others to go forth and further the cause of Liberty.
